Description: For those who always wanted to add their own sounds to SampleTank 4, we made the SampleTank Editor an easy-to-understand tool for converting samples to .st4i and .pak formats at a professional quality level.
From samples to libraries – SampleTank Editor gives you the opportunity to create your own libraries and tools from separate samples, as well as assign icons to tools and libraries. It has a simple and intuitive interface consisting of tabs on which you can design sounds and assemble instruments from them.
Quick import of samples – On the Samples tab, you can import samples and automatically create a layout for them based on file names. You can adhere to the general convention on naming SampleTank files or teach the editor to read the names of your files and determine their positions so as not to rename large collections of sounds. In the process of creating a layout, the editor automatically creates oscillators, zones and elements.
Editing oscillators and zones – You can edit zones on the Zones tab. This means that for each note, upper and lower limits are set on the keyboard, inside which you can place up to 6 oscillators. Oscillators in SampleTank support the loop playback function, which can play different versions of sound sequentially or randomly at the same pitch and at the same velocity. The SampleTank Instrument Editor also provides access to an extensive set of oscillator parameters and zones that you can use for advanced tuning
Editing elements – An element is called a “multisample” consisting of several groups of zones. On the Elements tab, you can change the pitch, volume and pan, as well as the playback mode (traditional resampling or resynthesis) and the trigger mode (note on, note off or latch). Changes made on this tab affect all zones and oscillators.
Editing at the tool level – On the Instruments tab, you can edit all the elements related to this SampleTank tool. Here you can add a description, legal information, keywords and insert effects into five open effect slots. SampleTank 4 has 70 different effects that allow you to add volume, color and dynamics in sound. In addition, 8 macro control knobs can be programmed to control modulation or other related parameters. The Instruments tab also sets the name and icon of the instrument, which is a link to the png file in the Library Resources folder.
Create your own libraries – Create a name for your new library and set an icon for it. Now that everything is ready, you can export a single tool or even a whole library of tools directly to SampleTank 4, as a result of which the corresponding files will be written directly to the SampleTank 4 directory on disk. SampleTank 4 automatically scans directories at the next start, so your new tool or library will appear in the browser next to the factory content. Now you are ready to launch the instrument, set up the multi-instrument, play it through the groove players and use all the features of the SampleTank sound engine to finally comb your signature sound.
