Description: Aly James Lab has released version 2.0 of the VSDSX (Virtual Simmons Drums System Extended) plugin, which adds native 64-bit support and native Mac AudioUnits format. This is a completely new version of the percussion synthesizer. The legend of analog drum synthesizer is now in V2
You’ve probably heard the Simmons drum synthesizer before, without even knowing it, wondering what was used to create such a powerful drum sound? Hexagonal shaped Simmons electronic drums were all over the place in countless recordings and concerts in the 80s, used by artists and bands such as Genesis, King Crimson, Jean Michel Jarre, Prince, Herbie Hancock, Pink Floyd, etc. The SDSV is a historical piece of equipment that found its way into the sound of the 80s and is still used as a secret weapon today.
There are about 5,000 of these items in total, so don’t expect to find a worker easily or cheaply.
The car was created by a real innovator. As there were no exact VSTs for this legend. The VSDSX is now in version 2 and includes, among other things, the beautifully emulated Simmons Digital ClapTrap module, a secret weapon that combines a variable sample rate digital source combined with subtle analog noise, the original feature of the device was that it never played same. sound twice. Although integrated into the VSDSX, a dedicated stereo expansion plugin is provided as a bonus.
The VSDSX itself provides a powerful synthetic drum sound, and can also be used with great efficiency when layering drums. Automation and modulation options can turn this thing into an insane creative sound source.
Add. Information: What’s new:
Cross-platform (Windows VST2 / VST3 and Mac AU (AudioUnits).
64-bit build using latest OS and IDE (Windows 10 VisualStudio and Mac Mojave Xcode).
Updated GUI (graphical interface).
Improved HIHAT and CYMBAL modules (more detailed sound process, improved envelopes, more accurate sound source and features).
Voice PROM now supports any EPROM image size without having to specify it in advance, it can also decode U255 companding and linear PCM formats.
VSDSX now has MIDI mapping capability, you can create a custom map to assign sounds to any MIDI notes you want (2 per voice) and save the configuration globally.
A new CLAP extra voice, closely tied to the legendary 1982 Simmons Digital ClapTrap with additional controls and modulation capabilities, a whole dedicated Claptrap plug-in is also provided with stereo expansion capability using two simulated voices operating with EPROM timing and filter offsets.
An additional VEL 2 MOD modulation source that uses speed to adjust the LFO modulation level (per voice).
A global option to enable “OSC Custom”, which changes all analog oscillators that use the typical SDSV analog waveform to use a sine waveform.
Improved sound engine on many levels and many bug fixes.
