Our second joint venture with the world famous London Contemporary Orchestra took us to a delightful aircraft hangar for the recording process. Together we have created a completely unique, never-sampled sonic palette – a complex collection of ever-evolving organic textures formed by layering unexpected combinations of instruments. Using the signature workflow, performance styles and innovative technologies that made LCO so in-demand, we created textures made up of indefinable, immersive sounds. Our need for unparalleled acoustics has led us to the most unusual recording space in the Spitfire’s eleven year history – a deep hangar with an amazingly long reverb tail that adds incredible resonance to every note. Enhanced by our unique Evo Grid, we give you access to an ultra-modern, inspiring collection of instantly reproducible, mesmerizing textures that will add incredible depth and color to your composition.
Following the continued popularity of the London Contemporary Orchestra Strings, our next collaboration with the LCO was to be even more unusual. Our collective ambition was to achieve something no one else in the sampling world had done before – inspired in part by the studio’s recent collaborations with orchestra including Suspiria with Thom Yorke, The Innocents with Carly Paradis, American Animals with Anne Nikitin and You Are Never Really Here with Jonny Greenwood. We have taken familiar, already existing organic instruments and combined them in unique ways to create indefinable, expressive and modern sounds and textures – much like an artist using many disparate colorways to create a new, multi-tonal palette, bringing together world-class performers and 10 years of experience. work in contemporary classical music and world cinema, as well as Spitfire’s sampling expertise and groundbreaking Evo Grid technologies. With the power of sampling, we’ve created new instruments that you can never recreate outside of a sampler – making the impossible possible.
