Description : The musical influence and the influence of Braxton Cook on music are almost as interchangeable as his gifts. He can call John Coltrane and Frank Ocean in the same 4-stroke phrase, his saxophone, voice and keys easily move between soul, jazz and space R & B. Juilliard graduate, Cook’s skills in saxophone and versatility give him a unique sound . This sound earned him respect from his contemporaries, as well as his place on the Grammy-nominated record with trumpeter Christian Scott Tandu Ajuah, a tour with Tom Mish, collaboration with Mac Ayres and a feature in the NPR Tiny Desk series. He has at least his own thing, and we wrote it right. He held his saxophone at a pace, then pulled out the Prophet 8 and Woolitzer and went crazy. The resulting loops and disposable saxophones, synthesizers, voices and flutes have a focus that goes well with hip hop, neo-soul, R & B, jazz or cinematic productions.
