Description:
Imagine being able to embed the sound signatures of rare, iconic, astronomically expensive stereos
and multi-track tape recorders into your creative process with one simple yet powerful tool.
Taupe plugin includes:
21 analog and digital tape recorders, 40 programs, 3 remote controls, 2 compressors, special mixing controller,
true dynamic compression, true harmonic richness and much more.

Peculiarities :
Mix Control = Dream Control

The Mix knob in Taupe has nothing in common with the regular dry/wet knob found in most plugins. Instead, it allows you to adjust the desired degree of “tape coloration” – from SOURCE (no tape signal, just the preamp input signal) to TAPE (all tape signal) – by mixing the tonal characteristics of the unit’s circuitry with or without a tape component. This revolutionary type of control is a first for Acustic Audio, and also a first for the pro audio world: it has never been implemented in any other plugin…
True dynamic compression, harmonic saturation and instant limiting
We get it: you’re itching to take the train to the city of saturation.
Just press the tape and you’ll get the original compression and harmonic distortion just as it was on the original machines. The resulting effect can be as subtle as 0.5 dB of soft compression, or as much as 6 dB of instant clipping. Transient processes will be softly smoothed out, strengthened, almost stretched, as only high-quality devices can do. At least until now!
Don’t need a compression effect? The “econo” function disables the tape compression component, saving processor resources for whatever effects you decide to add to your mix.
Taupe EQ

includes 3 different equalizer models that allow you to further shape the sound of your instruments.
The Model A was included in the equalizer section of a powerful American console built in 1976. It was one of the most flexible mixing consoles ever released and the first to feature an automated VCA fader system.
Model B is the equalizer section in a line console released in 1979.
Model C was taken from a high-end console released in 1982 by a famous Swiss company.
Compressor/limiter Taupe

Based on a high-quality Swiss analog console from 1982, the Taupe dynamics module is great for bass, drums, piano, and even spoken word recording.
Ready to work with modules

Taupe is also available as a channel strip plugin for Modula.
